Tshipi é Ntle welcomes the Safika Resources and Ntsimbintle Holdings transaction with Exxaro Resources

29 May 2025 – Tshipi é Ntle Manganese Mining (Tshipi) welcomes Exxaro Resources’ landmark transaction with Safika Resources associate Ntsimbintle Holdings, and OM Holdings to acquire a 50.1% ownership interest in Tshipi. Jupiter Mines Limited (Jupiter) will continue to hold the remaining 49.9% of Tshipi and will exercise joint control over the Tshipi operations.

Saki Macozoma, chairman of Tshipi and Ntsimbintle Holdings, said: “This transaction will enhance the value of these manganese assets by bringing Exxaro’s bulk commodity expertise to Tshipi, along with other benefits.  The transaction is in the broader interests of the South African economy and will be beneficial for B-BBEE. We consider the transaction to represent a fair value for Ntsimbintle’s shareholders, and are particularly pleased that these manganese assets will remain in South African hands.”

The Tshipi transaction is still subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to be finalised by March 2026.
